Hi everyone! What a busy week! My son ((my lefty) and husband just returned from Minnesota for his freshman college orientation. Sniff. Sniff.
With 30 hours of 2 family members away (which means takeout for the rest of us) I used the time to continue to rebuild my blog after this event the end of May. Today I want to share a last minute tablescape idea for impromptu summer gatherings.
Last Minute Summer Tablescape Idea
I love candles, all year round. Candles mean home and welcome all wrapped into a glass jar. And, I like to get the most of my candles which means they don’t get tossed until the wick is done. But after awhile some of my votives begin to show their age. Sound familiar?
So an hour before an impromptu neighborhood happy hour I grabbed my votives and came up with this idea to add a bit of whimsy (my new favorite word). I grabbed a few leaves and wrapped them with twine around the votives. It’s not a long term solution it was for a casual cocktail party.
leaves & candles
The leaves add some unexpected greenery around a votive. And, this idea works in all seasons. Get the kids to collect sticks or acorns and dress up your candles. Candles in jars of course. I would not recommend this for a naked candle.
