Am I the only one thinking ahead to cooler nights and earlier sunsets? Are you assessing your fall decor already or are you a hardliner and wait until September. With the rare, rainy days in Denver, I admit I have pumpkins and burlap on my mind. Today I have an upcycled container idea that would be great for a fall or winter tablescape.
But, I am jumping a few holidays ahead.
Any guesses what this popular snack container contained before it got a new purposeful, second life?
I love a good upcycle idea and most of the time the potential reuse item is right in front of us. Like in the form of a container of mixed nuts. Yep! This is the original container for the Kroger brand of mixed nuts.
I almost tossed this twice but you know what I loved about it?
The cardboard! When I unwrapped the packaging label, I found a perfect cardboard base. And, the top and bottom edges were wrapped with a light rim of aluminum. Cardboard and aluminum make the perfect pair if they met in a crafty bar.
And, all I could think, with those familiar chilly nights, was this container would be perfect for fall and the holiday decor. Insert a collective family eye roll right now….
With its cardboard wrap, it just screams burlap, brown paper, and ribbon. Right?
Oh and that cute concrete planter base? You can find that tutorial here. Warning it’s addictive.
