We got back late last night from the gut wrenching college drop-off (a little dramatic imagery). Our son had a huge smile on his face and I did my best not to ugly cry in the hallway of his dorm! I reassured him they were happy tears!
Not a bad view from his dorm room:
college drop off
This Colorado boy made sure to show his allegiance to his state and his Denver Broncos. Both gifts from family friends who know Erich is only as happy as the outcome of the Monday morning Bronco injury report. State and sports flags are great ice breakers for move in day. Parents and students instantly make connections or friendly rivalry stories.
The campus was lined with banners like this one below. There is a different one in the background. With every college visit, I took photos of similar campus banners. They are inspiring and subtle reminders to students of their responsibilities beyond the classroom.
retail therapy after college drop-off
So with college drop-off done it was time for me to have a little retail therapy.
There’s a reason it’s called retail therapy. Here are a few deals and sales this weekend. I ordered a few candles from Bath & Body on with an additional 25% discount with the code: AIRISCRISP.
Thinking ahead to stockings by the fire. I found these burlap stockings over at this daily deal site. No kids? These would be great for your furry family members or neighbors too!
A little retail therapy is a perfect way for me to look forward to the new season. And, wait for the familiar sound of the doorbell and familiar sound of the truck pulling away from the curb. “Mom, you have a box on the front porch.” Just what the doctor ordered!
