I woke up this morning and turned on the Denver station KUSA and caught a glimpse of this story. It’s about an eight-year-old boy who lives with spinal muscular atrophy who is confined to a wheelchair. Now meet Mr. Mike, a neighbor and a friend, who wanted Cole to have a night of trick or treating. So Mr. Mike created a Halloween costume to incorporate Cole’s trusty sidekick (his wheelchair). What Mr. Mike built in his garage was the best Halloween costume EVER! Oh, and it was a top-secret mission too!
Best Halloween Costume Ever
Mr. Mike created a TIE fighter – or a ship belonging to the Imperial fleet (the bad guys) in Star Wars. Apparently, we have an Imperial Fleet hovering around Parker, Colorado a suburb southeast of Denver. And, no doubt Cole is commander of this fleet.
And, all Cole needed to make this costume complete was a Star Wars theme mask and a Nerf gun. Which was an added bonus for his mom!
Cole will definitely win the best costume at the school’s annual parade. And, if Cole isn’t already the most popular kid in his class (check out his adorable personality) he will be with this Halloween costume. I think Mr. Mike might get a few more requests for design plans! I love this story. I don’t think we have seen the last of this Halloween costume story between two neighbors.
Oh, and the best part.. this was a surprise for Cole. Oh and the other best part; his parents plan to share this costume in the SMA community for other children.
This best Halloween costume ever story will warm your heart. We need more feel-good news stories. Please share!
