I have a heavy dose of denial that Thanksgiving is in a week and a few days. How did we get here? It was just pumpkins and leaves and now it’s bare trees and the pumpkin buffet leftovers from the squirrels? And, now it’s the middle of November. To calm the voices in my head I create a Thanksgiving checklist. Lists, in general, tend to calm me. I’m going to go on a limb and say a lot of my readers are also list makers.
The funny thing about lists is they usually generate new lists. Like when I took inventory of my dinnerware. I realized a few had chips and maybe a few are on the floor of my son’s car. These are my everyday plates and they are on sale this week! Score! Add a trip to World Market to my list this week. See what I mean? One list creates a new one.
Looking for cloth napkins and placemats. I found white cloth napkins at HomeGoods for cheap (I also found paper napkins). And, the big score this fall was these placemats (I bought in three different colors) at Bed, Bath & Beyond on super clearance.
I created a Thanksgiving checklist to help stay on task. Click here for a printable version. My dad is asking right now, “Laura, why did you decide not to center the items on the chekclist?” Where’s the fun with that logic! Ha!
