Hi Everyone! Do you have big plans for Father’s Day? We will host a Father’s Day bbq with both families on Sunday! Keeping it simple with grilled meats and cheese! Saturday plans include attending a bridal shower for one of my daughter’s best friends! Yikes! How did that happen? Ash and the bride-to-be became besties at their all-girls school. They did not know each other until their junior year of high school. Both girls ended up at the same college, both majored in accounting and they ended up with same firm (but in different states). I will try and grab some pics! And, that’s my weekending plans. Here are few things that caught my eye and a special weekending with Mrs. Rogers. [Read more…]
Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fun weekend! It’s a busy weekend at our house with boys in and out, boys learning to grill and a fun night out with friends. So on this issue of Weekending, I wanted to share a few video finds for a Sunday smile. My sister-in-law sent me this first video find. I have not seen Mila before, but apparently, this little talking toddler who has a lot to say on many subjects. In this video find she vents about those girlfriends who pull a “one-upper” in the conversation.
Video Finds for a Sunday Smile
This sassy, plenty to say pre-schooler reminds me of a younger version of this hilarious mom Whoa Susanna. This video find is her rant about the need for people to wear real pants. I think she has a podcast too! This is another video find for a Sunday smile
I couldn’t figure out why I was singing “Ring my Bellllllll… Ring my Bell.” It’s from this Walmart commercial. Are any of you singing this snappy little song for no particular reason? Here’s the video find for a Sunday smile to get you singing while loading the dishwasher.
And, let’s see more of these videos with this video find trending all week!
And, can we all agree that the best way to get a Sunday smile is to spend a little time with our pets. You can’t help to smile when you see their cute faces and wagging tales.
I did something I have mixed feelings about and it’s all wrapped in a condensed, fast forward confession: I watched the Megan & Harry movie on Lifetime. I know, I know. Lifetime is a cable channel devoted to movie plots where the ex-girlfriend or husband goes off the rails into a mess of crazy inside a contemporary home with sleek counters and cabinets. But, this Lifetime movie, was a fun romp of their first days and months into their courtship leading to this weekend’s Royal Wedding.
I watched the movie while tackling my craft/storage area in the basement and fast forwarded through some of the cheesier parts. But, the actors resembled the key characters. The actor who portrayed Meghan’s dad resembled her real-life dad. And, that’s before the dad drama earlier this week put him in the news. And, the casting of Meghan and Harry was believable. I do love Harry in a ski cap. Here’s a peek into the actors who played the fan favorite Royal couple.
Crossing the sea to the United States, this week’s Week-Ending is all about the Royal Wedding mania. Here’s a funny piece on CBS Sunday Morning about the difference between British English vs. American English. I wish we called our undies, knickers!

Alternatives to Royal Wedding Cake
Royal Wedding makes me think about cake. Here’s a list of sheet cakes if you want your own Royal Wedding cake (American style).
I shared my coconut cake here.
And, I bought myself a bouquet of flowers for the Week-Ending kickoff.
Happy Week-ending! Busy Saturday around here, but the weather looks amazing. I have an open house until 2 pm today and we have plans to attend a Cinco de Mayo party tonight. The present state of my kitchen is limes and avocados.
It’s amazing how much more organized I am when my schedule ramps up this time of year. I ran the dishwasher twice yesterday. Cinco de Mayo always includes dessert. I baked two Cinco de Mayo desserts and prepped an appetizer last night. I should host more open houses because I am on my organizing game.
So here are a few fun finds from the week-ending (include the lime cake recipe). What are your week-ending plans and what is the weather where you are today?
- Not sure where to start with the container garden ideas swirling in your head. Check out this guide. I tend to purchase and place. I need to step up my game!
2. Here’s a fun read for the best restaurants in the south? Did your favorite make this list?
2.5 Check out Debbie’s spring antiquing finds here. I need a day to thrift shop.
3. I am obsessed with this blog. Michael shares tips for spring decor. I love his floral arrangments, simple.
3.5 Please send a prayer to Debra from Uncommon Ground in the days ahead. I have followed Debra’s blog for several years.
4. Do you ever wonder if you have already peaked? Here’s a fun read at the ages we peak at various activities.
Cinco de Mayo Desserts
5. One of the desserts for our Cinco de Mayo party is a lime based, white cake. I found the recipe here. The frosting is so yummy. I may have left too much icing on the beater just for an excuse to lick the frosting. The recipe includes fresh limes and lime juice. Two of my favorite ingredients and must have staples in Colorado kitchens.
It’s the weekend! With rain and snow in the Denver forecast, we will be week-ending in the rain. It’s hard to complain about the rain because we need the moisture here in Colorado. So the rain is going to push us inside for a day to two. Good thing I have a gallon of paint to keep me busy! This week was busy in real estate as buyers and sellers kick into decision mode this time of year (after tax day).
I loved reading the comments on this post- talking about the wash or wait hair trend. A friend shared a dry shampoo product on my Facebook page here. Do you have a favorite dry shampoo product?
So here are a few things that caught my eye for this
week ending in the rain.
I love a good comment day!
- Do you love these shoes? I am on the fence for two reasons; too trendy and too pricey for a trend. What do you think?
- I am obsessed with this blogger and his entertaining ideas.
- I found this great paint color list for bedrooms. Grab a cup of coffee for this read!
- Remember my window consult last week? Well, the window representative shared this new series called Seven Seconds on Netflix. It’s amazing and I want my kids to watch it this summer. We are wrapping up the 10-ish episode story arc. It will make you think about so many things on so many levels. My husband I both love the series.
- Here’s a fun list to see if you are emotionally healthy or walking on the edge.
- Finally, I love this woman’s sugar cookies. If you stop by please tell her Laura @notatrophywife is not stalking her. #wink
Here’s my photo of the week at our house. It’s Chloe sitting on her brother’s bed and listening to us talk about his school day. Nothing sweeter than a boy and his dog. Have you seen that car commercial with the boy who grows up and his dog is with him and they share their memories in his Subaru? I think it’s Subaru. You know how I love a good commercial. #grabatissue
Happy Weekending! Tomorrow is Earth Day so look for my post about 5 simple ways to make every day Earth Day!
Hi Everyone! Today is about our trip to South Carolina. It was a college road trip. But, weekending sounds so much fancier. We met our older son in Hilton Head and planned to watch a few of his singles and doubles matches during his college tennis tournament. But with rain and/or rain delays, we decided to leave early and head to Charleston. Let me say; it’s always hard to say goodbye to my kids (at any age). We wanted to check out the historical town and tour the College of Charleston. Our older son’s teammates snapped this photo before we left Hilton Head.
Weekending in South Carolina
Do you know who is a famous graduate of the College of Charleston? Here’s a clue; he was one of Rory Gilmore’s boyfriends on Gilmore Girls. And, you may be wondering how I know the answer to this clue? Google. My son Googled famous historians (celebrities) who attended the College of Charleston.
The answer: Rory Gilmore’s boyfriend, Logan Huntzberger.
And, the flowers were everywhere in Charleston.
and I got a little sidetracked with …
And these carriage entry doors…
Speaking of doors… I am obsessed with Stacey’s front door.
And, here is a fun read all about Instagram’s Guide to Charleston’s doors.
It’s the weekend! Did anyone have a rough Monday following daylight savings? It took me until Wednesday to feel less-exhausted than usual. Especially around 2 pm, when I needed a coffee to power through the second half of the day. The flip side of daylight savings I had a burst of energy with the extra hour of sunshine! I found myself with a surge of energy and motivation not typically seen during the winter months.
Here are a few finds that kept me awake during those mid-day slumps this week. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
My husband and I were in Dublin in November.
Here’s a Dublin find to kick off the weekending.
Looking for fun spring quotes to welcome the season? Check a few here and make your own printables.
I didn’t make a printable this week, but for a few dollars, I made this. Leave a comment and I’ll send you the details.
I am addicted to my little investment app on my phone. I attached my checking/debit card to this investment app and it automatically rounds up to the next dollar. Last year, I saved over $1000 with “roundups” from everyday expenses. Jean Chatzky has mentioned it on the Today Show. Get the details here.
Looking for a snack idea? Check out this moose munch recipe.
I am in love with this home office remodel. It looks like a commercial office space.
I love these decor tips from a popular blogger.
And, here’s my DIY on my son’s bedroom closet barn doors.
It’s the weekend. We have a few dinner dates with friends so I need to pace myself with food and drinks. wink My new year’s resolution was to focus on finding joy in the every-day.
Finding Joy in the Everyday
What shows are you watching? We are watching This is Us. Can you believe next week is the season finale of This is Us? What did you think of this season?
Ken Olin, the executive producer responded to one of my tweets a few weeks ago. He’s pretty vocal politically on social media so I replied to one of his tweets like, “… can’t we all just try to find one thing in common.” His response to me was a photo of his family’s Bernese Mountain dog, which meant he had read my Twitter profile because Berner fan (the breed) is in my profile. Finding joy in a little tweet.
Here’s my Chloe. She was also the reason I was slow to finish this project. This 90+ pound four-legged, furry family member brings us joy every day!
Speaking of Chloe! I get at least one bottle of Chloe wine from girlfriends when I host a girls night. I love the wine, but more importantly, I love how my friends know Chloe.. well then again, the whole neighborhood knows Chloe! She is often mistaken for a bear. PS. I am not suggesting to drink wine to find joy…
If you have a few minutes to watch a powerful story of grace and redemption click here. It is an amazing story from 60 Minutes. I promise it will bring a smile and joy to your day. Promise. Leave a comment I would love to hear what you thought about it.
I found a little joy when I captured this photo. I think I shared it last week, but it’s a favorite photo. What brought you a little joy this week? Enjoy the fun of weekending.
HI Everyone! It’s March! Everything just feels lighter and brighter! Thank you for all your sweet comments last weekend with our pending Mom Prom 2018. Photos to follow on the fun annual mother-son tradition at his school. I had a mom in Denver reach out to me when she realized I was a mom from her son’s school. I love those small world stories. Now it’s time for a little weekending in March.
Weekending in March
First, I have to share is from Two Men & a Little Farm. They did all the heavy lifting to share what happens when you pair flowers with tree stumps.
If you watched the second season of The Crown and you are curious about the marriage between Princess Margaret and her photographer husband read this. Princess Margaret was definitely the fun sister! wink
If this is the spring to unleash your inner garden goddess this article will help you get started! So far I have grown 10 types of herbs and I am clearly doing something wrong. They look like this until they don’t.
If you want to plan ahead for an April Fool’s Day joke you have to read these creative, fun ideas.
Are any of you obsessed with a clean kitchen sink area? Read this.
And, if you missed this post I shared my dining room hutch. I am so in love with the space.
Are we ready for a weekend? What a week in our country. Thank you to the competitors in the Olympics to make our hearts swell with pride. Colorado sent the largest number of Olympic athletes to South Korea. So we have been cheering from our family room every night. The Olympics is all about family support.
When Red Gerard won the first gold medal for the Americans, after oversleeping before the slopestyle snowboard event, we laughed at his chill attitude. He is the same age as one of my boys. His family joined him for the celebrations following his win.
Let’s just say only his mom and dad got up for pre-dawn bus drive up the mountain for the next day’s events.
And, can we talk about Nathan Chen’s performance in the free skate program. He is just too cute.
I had to share his pre-Olympic commercial.
And, I love the athlete commercials. Here is a favorite because I love the song that is paired with skating favorite Nathan Chen. It’s all about the journey. I would love to see him skate to more music like the one in this video filmed last summer.
Finally, for those of you of a certain age, you might remember Scott Hamilton. Check out the amazing things he is doing outside of Nashville. Loved this interview with Craig Melvin.
When Scott Hamilton was skating I was roller skating in my garage and twirling around the support beam in the center of my “rink.” Do any of you remember Ice Castles?
Happy Day! Give your children extra hugs, texts, and love! We all have a champion in our lives.
