The art of handwritten notes is just that.. it’s art with words and feelings. Handwritten notes take it a step further because it is a gesture of the time it took to write (and mail) the note. My mom instilled iin us, from an early age, the importance of handwritten thank you cards. One of my children learned a life lesson: a thank you via text does not sit well with grandma. Before my children could write I bought the “fill in the blank” cards. It is the gesture behind a handwritten note.
I have a drawer of handwritten notes and thank you cards from friends and family. I saved them with the intention of re-reading; one day.
There is something special about writing words of thanks or encouragement on a card. Personalized stationery is a nice gift idea because it is perfect for so many people on your gift list; a mother-in-law, a millennial (I gave my daughter and her friends a set of monogrammed note cards for graduation). Stationery is a gift that pays it forward every time someone uses it to write handwritten notes. And, the best part is this gift arrives boxed.
I purchased monogrammed note cards from the The Stationery Studio. Etsy is another place to find cute monogrammed stationery sets.
Please share your favorite gift idea for the person on your list who has everything. Let’s bring back the art of handwritten notes.
