Hi there, last week my blog was hacked. And, right now I am in the aftermath of my blog hack this weekend. I’ve referred to the hack as a hack-a palooza because it sounds like I am keeping it together with my sense of humor. Maybe I can gather a little perspective about my blog’s current social status if I add the word palooza to the end of the words; blog hack.
Blog Hack Details
The crime scene occurred on a random, early morning in the middle of the week. And, the blog hack unfolded right in front my eyes. With every keystroke, huge chunks of words and widgets evaporated from the page.
I must have been in shock because, as my husband pointed out, “I was uncharacteristically calm.” I think the surprise of my calmness shocked my husband more than my shock from the blog hack.
I called multiple professionals and cried on the phone with my now former hosting company. All professionals confirmed the news; every word in every sentence in every post was lost. Poof!
I lost everything including my files and backup files. I tried to save anything. At one point, I thought I had found a 2015 backup. But, in a matter of seconds, that data table went poof!
The good news was I had a team of women who worked (over the weekend) to get a template and hosting in place. Those women, including coders and designers, are the reason I am not curled up under my desk today.
And, in light of last week’s event in Manchester, it’s all about perspective. The great news of this epic blog hack was all of my images were saved in a Dropbox account. The photos will rebuild the stories.
And, with those photos, I will rebuild my blog.
