Hi everyone! You know when you are in a dressing room and the curtain doesn’t quite cover the dressing space. The same issue happens in new houses, rentals, dorms or ill fitted window treatments. Here is a quick tutorial on how to create privacy for windows for rentals, dorms or budget constraints.
how to add privacy to windows
The windows in one of the bathrooms in our house either lacks window treatments or the window treatment doesn’t cover the entire window. Either way, I like a little more coverage on my windows.
The supply list is short. I had everything on hand including the transparent (clear) contact paper. The supply list includes: scissors, clear contact paper, a template and a permanent marker.
The template can be from virtually any item you have around the house. I used a paint swatch from Home Depot to make mine. It was in the shape of a leaf. I also free handed a square to make a larger shape. Simply trace the template on the back (paper side) of the clear contact paper. I would choose a larger template to cut down on the time it takes to cut out the templates. If it’s a large window you could even roll the contact paper or center it down the window.
This idea is a great way to create privacy for windows in minutes for rentals, dorm rooms, budget crunchers or new homeowners who need a temporary solution. It’s fool proof and the transparent liner peels right off.
