With Halloween around the corner, I prefer cute and fun versus bloody and creepy. My neighbor and friend is the exact opposite. She loves skeletons and bloody creatures. Even my food is family friendly. So it’s no surprise I loved these easy monster donuts. These easy monster donuts are sweet and cute. And, who doesn’t love a bite-size donut for an unexpected party food?
Sidenote: Oh, and these mini donuts bring back memories of those six-packed donuts. Does anyone remember these bite-size packs from the middle school years?
Monster Donuts Purchase List
There is nothing complicated with these monster donuts. I grabbed the following at the grocery store:
- pre-bagged powdered, glaze and or chocolate donuts
- a few tubes of gel frosting
- white frosting
- icing tints
I had to practice with the gel to make the eyes. A couple of the monsters looked like they were tearing up.
I had fun with these monster donuts. I had the monster eye candies on hand, but have seen them at King Soopers (Kroger) and Michaels.
I used Halloween theme cupcake liners to prep and serve the donuts. The cupcake liners were an easy, crowd-friendly way to serve the bite-size treats. Cupcake liners make a great way to serve small snacks to large crowds.
Just have fun creating these donuts. These bite-size donuts are a kid-friendly, low mess treat to make with the kids, grandkids, teenagers, grandparents and everyone in between! Someone is watching you!
