Saying Goodbye to Tanner (our Australian Shepherd)

August 14, 2018

Hi Everyone. Yesterday was a tough day. This is the post I shared on my FB page where we said goodbye to Tanner.

Thank you to everyone who left messages on my Instagram. Saying goodbye to Tanner and our pets is the hardest part of loving them so very much.

Saying Goodbye

It is with heavy hearts we share our news that Tanner RAN to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. It’s difficult to measure 12 years and his role & impact in our family. He helped raise the kids and taught all of us so many life lessons. Here is a photo on the day we adopted him and the photo below was from last summer taken by our dear friend who is our family photographer.
Tanner, you were born to run!
Now go find Owen-he’s likely in a closet.

** Owen was our Bernese Mountain dog rescue who lived in our closets the first 12 weeks after we adopted him.

Thank you Tanner! You helped raise our kids (and our Bernese Mountain dogs).

    Sissy,
Can I get a copy of the pic of the kids and Tanner from last year? That wasn’t the Christmas card photo I got…mine was sans Tanner, my favorite nephew.
    Love ya! T

Laura, I am so very sorry…I know that heartache and the gaping hole that losing a pet leaves in a family. We are so unworthy of the love of an animal, yet they give it so freely and abundantly. I am thinking of you and sending prayers and hugs from Texas
