Hi there- Today on Saturday Shares I am showing off a pumpkin roundup. We finally got pumpkins rolling into the grocery stores. I was ready for pumpkins by the end of August. I hope to hit a farmer’s market this weekend to get find a few different shapes and sizes. Denver is set to have slightly lower temperatures-it’s hard to get into fall when we are still in shorts, flip flops and sunscreen!
I love pumpkins; real, fake; painted, au natural… I just love what this popular squash represents- a change of seasons and the signal of fall! The above image is from my unexpected surprise a few weeks ago. Not that type of surprise..
Here’s a fun fact from my extensive search on wiki- The word pumpkin originates from the word pepon (which is Greek for “large melon”.
I love the petite pumpkins as much as the Costco, melon size ones. What’s your favorite shape or size of this orange squash?
Here is a pumpkin roundup for this week’s Saturday Shares . What is great about this popular fall squash is it can be integrated into décor, patio, foods.. it’s so versatile and the seeds can be baked or saved for spring planting. Share your favorite in the comments, please!
