The temperatures in Denver climbed this week. And, just like the temperature increase, my water intake increases too. Over the past two years I (pretty much) kicked the soda habit. Once in awhile I crave a Diet Pepsi, but it’s not often and it is never a full can. The issue is water can get a little boring when I drink it every hour.
make water fun
To kick the soda habit I had to make water more fun. I am not content with plain water. And, all my beverages need ice. Lots of ice. In my search to make water more fun and keep on my track I discovered the power of a cucumber.
Yep, adding a few slices of cucumber changed a plain glass of water into a fancy drink. Cucumber was just what I needed to make add a tinge of something to a glass of water over ice. Must have ice. I don’t know what it is about cucumber because it’s not the most flavorful vegetables. But, cucumber water is like the taste of fresh air. I frecycle my Starbuck’s plastic cups with ice water and cucumber slices. My friends think I ordered some fancy new drink from the summer menu. I’ll never tell.
