Do you love your neighborhood? What would you change in your community? Do you live in a neighborhood where everyone walks to the local coffee shop?
These are the questions that a father-daughter asked themselves almost twenty years ago when they created a new type of community outside of Atlanta. Today, Serenbe is a planned community with trails, lakes, trees, and homes nestled in between. It immediately brings back the movie Truman with Jim Carrey?

I instantly fell in love with the aerial view of the turret style homes on brick-lined streets. And then I think, “What’s the catch?” “What are the HOA dues?” How much does it cost to live there? That’s the realtor in me.
So I Googled the community and found this review by a writer from the Black Walnut Dispatch. The title of the article is The Creepy (and Pretentious) Sustainable Community of Serenbe. It’s a fun read and the author asks the same snarky questions running in my head, “What’s the catch?” If it’s a pedestrian-friendly community then where do residents park their cars?
If you are from Atlanta I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you have friends or family who live here? It looks too good to be true, so would love comments.
