It takes me a week to settle into the new year. And I know when I have settled in when I have the urge to clean, purge and organize the closets. Today I want to share a few favorite organizing ideas that I have incorporated into my routine.
One of my favorite organizing ideas was how I used a lazy Susan to organize the cleaning supplies under the sink. The lazy Susan was a great way to store the essentials without taking up too much space under the sink. This idea provided much need space to store paper towels and extra trash bags. I love this organizing idea.
This next organizing idea is effective and pretty. I pulled out of my half empty paint cans out of storage an poured the paint into mason jars. A label clarified the room or the color of the paint. I stored the paint filled mason jars in the laundry room. The jars take up less shelf space than the gallon size cans and they are easy to grab for quick paint touch ups.
I love labels. I spent an entire year with a hand held label maker. The only problem is label makers have size restrictions. I purchased a box of full page adhesive sheets and got to work creating a label template. I saved it in a word document so it easy to change the label or create a set of labels for bins and storage containers.
The larger adhesive label makes a huge difference. Now I have a bin and a label for wayward extension cords and lightbulbs.
