Canvas Paint Party

I am sharing a canvas paint party idea I came up with before my blog!  When we moved into our home during the summer months  my daughter was long on free time and short on new friends.  So I let her create her own canvas art with an oversized canvas board I found HERE (you will want to use a coupon). I forgot this project until I was cleaning out photos from our family account on Dropbox. I cringe now seeing the explosion of color, but they were her favorite colors.  And, it occurred to me a canvas paint party would be a fun, home based activity!  I would recommend smaller canvas boards and maybe set it up with tarps covering the driveway, garage or basement floor.

The fun part of this is it’s still a great project for you, your kids or a great birthday activity!  Canvas and paint: a classic pairing! In this image I suggest a drama free idea to entertain tween girls, but this works for boys too, but maybe younger boys who like messy hands. My experience with my boys is once they hit the age of eleven they were  done with crafts and obsessed with Nerf! Suggestion: do this outside with paint tarps or in the grass!
