We are shopping for a new rug for our family room. Our rug is worn and tired. Wow, sounds like I’m describing myself? We were at the Great Indoors (now closed in Colorado) and were telling the sales associate about our high traffic patterns from the kids and the dogs.
The sales associate gave us a suggestion to keep our two dogs off our new rug ( with the intention of managing the dog hair and muddy paw prints). I’m listening. He says, “Take one of “these… guess here”, but it in half, place it under the rug, spaced every 3-4 feet apart for two weeks. Any guesses on what he suggested to keep under the rug to keep the dogs away…?”.
Cigars! Has anyone heard of this suggestion? Do I run out and buy a box of cigars?

Hello: did this work for you? I just got a new puppy and while his potty training is going great, whe. He does have accidents he gravitates towards my rugs
Hi Karol- I got this suggestion after our potty training was done. What I actually did during potty training was roll up the rugs because yes, there is something about the rug! Let me know if you end up using a cigar: I would love to add an addendum to that post! laura
