Mosquito Repellant Plants

Mosquito Repellant Plants

How is it that some of us get attacked  by mosquitos the minute we step outside while others can watch an entire  sunset  and never get a nibble?  I  am wearing long sleeves and yoga pants pajama bottoms after 5pm because of the mosquitos     comfort.  #notatrophywife So while  in the mountains, where the mosquitos have clearly adjusted to [Read more…]

Patriotic Pillow Decor

Patriotic Pillow Decor

HI there- I admit I don’t use a lot of red, white and blue in my house for the 4th of July. I think because the heat just makes me cranky and it doesn’t have the wind up like say Halloween where you can get a good 4 weeks out of the ghosts and pumpkins!  [Read more…]

Décor in Minutes | 2 Minute Tuesdays

Décor in Minutes | 2 Minute Tuesdays

décor in minutes | 2 Minute Tuesdays The seasons fly by so fast and if I didn’t love spending time decorating for the seasons and holidays (there is a difference) I would call it a huge sane drain!  But, I love the seasons and holidays and LOVE to decorate.  My friends give me a hard [Read more…]

Labels Organize Everything

Labels Organize Everything

How many of you own a label maker?  I have several label makers and the ultimate label maker: the Silhouette.  Labels calm me. Seriously. Labels are my go t0 strategy to organize a desk, drawer, closet or refrigerator.  I {may have} labeled the fruit bin in the refrigerator just in case the family couldn’t recognize [Read more…]

Spring Plates in Minutes : 2 Minute Tuesday

Spring Plates in Minutes : 2 Minute Tuesday

Hi there- Okay I kind of  love this very easy spring plate idea for this week’s 2 Minute Tuesday.  I  am a bit of a dish whore- I love plates, mugs, salad plates. With every season, I need my plates to represent!  The issue with being a dish whore is that I get a little tight on [Read more…]

Bunny Image Printable

Bunny Image Printable

Hi Everyone- I am in love with this bunny image printable.   The best part is you don’t have to drain your printer’s ink!  I emailed my local printer (Office Max soon to be Staples) with the graphic below and asked for the image to print to an 18×24 printable. The cost for the 18×24 printable: $2.11.  This price was definitely worth the [Read more…]

DIY Winter Wreath

DIY Winter Wreath

Hi everyone- It’s funny to post a winter wreath when we had temps as high as 70 last weekend in Denver. Seriously, where’s the snow? We need snow. Now, if you are over the snow you can still make this DIY winter wreath and save it for next winter! So I made this DIY Winter [Read more…]

Mitten Sugar Cookies & Recipe

Mitten Sugar Cookies & Recipe

I love practicing my cookie decorating skills with a batch of sugar cookie dough on a snowy weekend. I am practicing on a mitten theme this month.   In January, it’s a mitten theme.  I also like to stick to one design to make a streamlined assembly line.   I made these mitten cookies  to mail to my daughter and her roommates in the cold, mid-west [Read more…]

Stair Case Garland Ideas…

Stair Case Garland Ideas…

Hi there- I found these stair case garland  ideas in October and I am just now sharing.  My original plan was to change the garland in my home after seeing a friend’s much simpler, cuter idea.  My middle child would call this plan, “hashtag suburban mom probs.”   I didn’t get any garland up this year on [Read more…]

Berries and Grapevines

Berries and Grapevines

I love the holidays and all the lights and décor.  But, I must say one of the reasons I love the lights and the boughs of holly is because it hides the dust.  There I said it.  On some days the magic in the day is disguising the dust bunnies!  Here’s a peek into a [Read more…]

Upcycle Tree Branches

Upcycle Tree Branches

Hi There- Here’s a quick upcycled wreath I made using tree trunks and branches from a neighbor who recently trimmed his trees.  I asked if I could take some before it was hauled away. He couldn’t load my car fast enough. And, then the branches sat in my garage for a year! I up-cycled a broken frame, added [Read more…]

Simple Thanksgiving Decor Ideas

Simple Thanksgiving Decor Ideas

Hi there-  I am joining in a Thanksgiving Décor blog hop  hosted by Emily and Erin at Elizabeth Joan Designs.  I start decorating for fall over Labor Day weekend, add a few witches and ghosts in October, and  return to autumn.  This is why pumpkins and the often overlooked, under valued gourd, are my go  [Read more…]

Spider Donuts

Spider Donuts

Hi there- I have seen Halloween spider donuts all over Pinterest this year and they are too  cute. The ingredient list is short and the cute factor is huge. Here’s what you need: Chocolate  cake donuts (I used Hostess- in the bread aisle at Target), green M&M’s, roundish shaped pretzels, frosting to attach the M&M’s.

Updating a Vase with Spray Paint

Updating a Vase with Spray Paint

I am over my love affair with red.  I like a little bit, but at some point I decided every accessory in my TJ MAXX hoarder closet needed to be red.  Love this vase but the red clashes and just doesn’t say spring. The red vase was in need of an intervention so I updated it with [Read more…]
