~ tortellini skillet dish feeds a crowd ~
Today I am sharing an easy, low effort tortellini skillet dish. Just add your favorite meat and/or veggies to add protein and volume to this low maintenance dinner. This tortellini skillet dish is perfect dinner for a crowd of teens! I made this dish on the fly because my son’s friends were over and I wanted to give them a home cooked meal (this rarely happens when friends come over). I usually have both tortellini and ground beef (or turkey) in the freezer (because one of my boys is a carb-seeking missel). Add a salad and you are good to go! Keep scrolling to read what my kids’ pediatrician suggests instead of salad!
It’s so easy there is nothing to commit to memory! Just a package of your favorite tortellini, ground beef, turkey, sausage or vegetables, sauce and I added the green onions because I had them on hand. My entire family loves this after sport practices and during the winter. It’s heartier than a soup, but it’s a variation of pasta. And, it takes 10 minutes to boil the tortellini and pre-cook your favorite meat.
Sidenote: When I don’t have salad I usually put out carrot sticks and broccoli (yes, one of my children loves fresh broccoli and cauliflower). Crazy, right?! My children’s pediatrician is a big fan of carrots over salads because when kids (and adults) dump dressing over a salad, it pretty much cancels the nutritional value. Just a little shout out to the carrots!
