Today I am sharing my favorite chocolate cake recipe. I make it once a year for my birthday. I remember celebrating my first birthday as a married girl and I was stunned my husband didn’t buy a cake? That birthday is likely when I made a mental note to refer to him as my {first} husband. Twenty plus years later I would say the nickname followed along in our marriage. And so did my chocolate cake! Once every few years I make this chocolate cake more than once. This is what happened when I made it last winter! Clearly my family does not share in my love of this cake
This chocolate cake is dense with and covered with a chocolate icing with nuts. It’s decadent, addictive and a little piece of heaven. Worth the calories! The icing drizzled over the cake just coats the cake in more chocolate.
This chocolate cake is the only one I make. It’s my go to chocolate cake recipe! I am counting the days until my birthday!
