Hi everyone~ How many of you jumped on the high top kitchen table trend? I wouldn’t say my {first} husband and I are always at the forefront of a trend, but we were on the high top table’s 15 minutes of fame a couple years ago. While participating in our neighborhood’s annual garage sale I casually put it out there to sell the table and was surprised my husband was on the exact same page. Neither of us liked the table and if it wasn’t for the garage sale, we may still be using it. wasn’t conducive for long conversations after dinner. It was the happy hour of tables. And, I have no pictures of it. It’s like a former boyfriend – the photos of the table have all been deleted! We knew we wanted to return to the classic kitchen table- the height that our Bernese Mountain puppy LOVES! Here is the replacement table we found at World Market in late spring.
The chairs were sold separately and were on closeout so we grabbed the remaining five available at this particular store. I loved the shabby chic upholstered chairs with the nail heads. They are so much more comfortable than are previous bar height chairs we all linger a little longer after the dishes are cleared. Seriously- who knew a table height could help our family connect?
I found a similar version of our dining chair at Pottery Barn starting at $399. We were able to snag 5 dining chairs for under $500.
