aprons
Today I am sharing a few of my favorite aprons for the summer grilling season! Remember Alice from the Brady Bunch who wore a white apron around her hospital blue uniform? The only time Alice wasn’t wearing an apron was when she had a date with Sam the butcher. Well these cooking “bibs” have returned to the kitchen and they are anything but plain. The truth is if you have seen some of my disasters in the kitchen I should be wearing a trash bag when I cook. I noticed a resurgence of aprons while watching Patricia Heaton’s new cooking show on the Food Network, appropriately called “Patricia Heaton Parties.” She had cute aprons for each episode. I had no idea there were so many styles. Styles that cover the entire front or the shorter apron around the waist. Here are a few favorite aprons to kick off the grilling season.
I found these favorites while wearing my pajamas with a cup of coffee. My first online stop took me here . Many of their aprons have matching dishtowels and oven mitts. This may be a bit too much matchy-matchy for me. I have to admit with this example I am thinking if the apron needs to match the colors in the kitchen. This style might clash with everything, not to mention I don’t look good in purple or red. Does anyone else think about these details?
Check out these more traditional aprons appropriately titled the Hampton Stripe Aprons. I love a clean line and this style is a little more utilitarian for the more serious grill girl or guy.
I found these NFL inspired aprons from the same store as the one above. This would be a great Father’s Day gift just in time for grilling and football seasons. Check out the NFL aprons!
I had a feeling the aprons at Anthropologie would offer a little more frilly and pretty. Anthropologie didn’t disappoint. . This one is too pretty for me to wear while cooking. It would look like a crime scene after I finished in the kitchen. That’s the things with aprons; it’s hard to keep mine clean. But this apron is pretty enough to make it into a dress!
Target is also in the apron game with a wide selection of cute, retro aprons. I was surprised their pricing was higher than any of the brands listed above:
Finally I have to share my favorite apron of all times and my little guy who modeled it a few years back. It was a gift from my cousins and we wear them today while baking during the holidays. My little guy is in high school now and he still loves to make creations from the leftovers in the refrigerator. I wish he would wear an apron while playing rugby!

I haven’t seen her show. I will check it out. My sister gave me a really cute apron last Thanksgiving. I love it!
