Please forgive me for posting this peanut butter & chocolate no bake bars recipe. It’s my go to for no bake bars. These are perfect for a summer dessert because there is not oven involved when the temps move north of 90 degrees. The secret to these bars is the melted milk chocolate chips; not the pantry staple of semi-sweet chips. The size of the pan is also a decision. For this batch I went with a square 9×9 pan versus the classic 9×13 pan. These are more dense and pack more of a peanut butter punch. I justify the thick bar by convincing myself I will eat fewer.
My sister shared this recipe with me and makes this recipe every time she visits from Knoxville. My sister also introduced me to the concept of powdered sugar in a box. If you want to save a few minutes grab the Keebler box of crushed graham crackers. The pre-crushed crackers cost more, but it just means you can eat these bars a few minutes sooner.
- CRUST:
- 1 16 oz box of powdered sugar
- 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 cup melted butter
- Mix and press above ingredients into a 9x13 or smaller pan
- Melt 1 package of MILK chocolate chips and spread over the crust
- Chill in refrigerator for 1-2 hours (if you can wait that long).
