What is it about chocolate chip cookie dough? The blended ingredients of sugar, brown sugar, eggs, butter and chocolate chips…
The FDA and nutritionists tells us not to eat raw cookie dough. Who follows this advice? I guess this makes me a risk taker ….
I remember the first time I ate raw chocolate chip cookie dough, out of the tube, .. with a spoon and shared it with six of my closest middle school friends. Even then, I was a risk taker….
But, now that I am an adult I indulge with my favorite chocolate chip cookie dough.. from scratch. I took a big risk with my latest recipe.. I mixed the chips and I added a dash of salt!
All of these years I was a Semi-Sweet chocolate chip girl because that was on the Nestle bag. I never added the salt because I guess I rationalized the lack of salt somehow made the chocolate chip cookie dough healthier… rationalization…….
When a good friend shared the power of mixing the Semi-Sweet with Milk chocolate….it was a game changer.. and add the salt and man.. it is a whole new type of chocolate chip cookie dough..
She suggested mixing Milk chocolate and Semi-Sweet to balance the chocolate.. or something like that.. recipe below for my version of the classic chocolate chip recipe. I lower the sugars and increase the flour a smidge.
