~new chaise for a living room in transition~
I am so excited to share our new chaise for our living room. This is what our living room looked like for the past year when, on an impulse, we sold all of our well loved and poorly constructed living room furniture. The only thing crazier than that decision was the decison to make the living room into our Bernese Mountain puppy’s loft. Hardwood floors and mountain views. This is what the living room looked like last summer until February of this year! The truth is we I wasn’t ready to get rid of our college age daughter’s Pottery Barn chaise. So I gave it to our puppy and put in our living room. Sounds like good coping skills to me!
So it’s kind of funny when we replaced Chloe’s (the puppy not our daughter) pink chaise for a new chaise (for us) we found at Crate and Barrel. We wanted a furniture piece that would offer flexibility in seating ( I envision a double sided fireplace where the wall is located on the right). It’s a tight fit for a couch and the rounded wall adjacent to the stairs makes it a “design challenge.” Here is the chaise we found in the store and online.
The brown wall in the background is the one I hope comes tumbling down but more on that dream later! I love our new chaise and now we just have to train Chloe, the Miley Cyrus of Berners, that this is not for her “loft.”
And now our new chaise is in front of the living room windows. It’s super comfy with the mountain views in the background. We just need a snowstorm and a good book on a Sunday afternoon! The entire family loves it.
