~diy gate project~
This DIY gate project caught my eye because it was relatively simple and it works well in multiple places in my home! A circular saw was used for the cuts, but I think you could use a hand saw if you put a little muscle into it! This DIY gate project was inspired by Donna’s amazing blog, Funky Junk Interiors.
I literally get lost in her blog with so many projects and awesome tutorials.
I made my gate wider and taller based on the size of the framed artwork I had above the intended bookcase. I put my gate together on the floor of my garage:
I purchased wood boards in the fence section at Home Depot for less than $15.00. I found the gate hardware in the aisle with the garage door/gate hardware. I bought two for about $15.00.That’s it. Oh, and the paint I already had.. it may be primer.. shh…. don’t tell anyone!I love the rough edges!
So easy! Love it and get tons of compliments. I change the décor on the wreath with most seasons! The sign is from Pottery Barn and was an early Valentine’s Day gift to myself last February!
Here’s the spring version:
