Favorite Open Shelving Ideas to Replace Upper Cabinets |

Today I am sharing my favorite open shelving ideas. A year ago I would never have considered open shelving. It’s so .. well.. open; exposing my crap, dust and well more crap! I really don’t want friends to see my lip stained glassware. But, the more time ~~researched~~ spent on décor sites, the more I loved the look! I decided to use our basement bar area to try open shelves. The finished basement is original to the house and starting to show it’s age. The bar is not a high traffic area so it’s a great space to practice open shelving before tackling the main floor space (ie: kitchen). Open shelving will definitely update this space. I’m thinking I want to remove the upper cabinets, install a plank wall, stone or maybe a chalkboard behind it. I am open to suggestions! I love the sign on one of the shelves ( I am searching Etsy) and I think the last photo is a favorite! Which image are you crushing on below?
