rugby cupcakes
We are in the middle of high school rugby and I am the team parent. I decided it would be fun to make rugby cupcakes for the scrum and the hooker (and the other teammates). And, no you didn’t read that incorrectly. One of the key positions in rugby is the hooker. I remember seeing this bumper sticker in the parking lot during the first year my son played rugby for his high school. I backed up and took a photo of the bumper sticker. You can imagine the jokes and plays on this position’s name in the locker room during my son’s first season. In full disclosure, I am not sure I am using “the scrum” in the correct context, but I figure it’s close enough and my son was not home when I edited this post.
I got this idea during the Super Bowl 50 game (the one where the Denver Broncos won)! I made cupcakes for a SuperBowl party and was looking for something to resemble a football. I found these chocolate dusted almonds in my pantry. I have found these at Trader Joe’s and Sprouts.
I mastered the art of creating grass (or turf) icing. I shared the details HERE.
