Jumping on my soap box (actually I am stepping on the box because I have a flipping $%^%%^ running injury that is driving me insane- hence this off topic vent about the Kardashians. Who is Keeping up with the Kardashians? That’s the question I am stuck on this first full week of the new year.
Oh my God I can’t believe I am even discussing this self absorbed family. But, I am just going crazy after watching 10 minutes of Kim’s cheesecake cravings and impulse trip to Paris! Can a trip to Paris be an impulsive decision when you have to coordinate a camera crew, the momager’s calendar and mandatory friends in every frame? And, what about Kim’s pregnancy and concerns of blood pressure and diabetes? Seriously, who is watching this show?
Let me back up. My daughter is home from college and had the show on earlier in the day. I later turned on the television, only to run out of room and get distracted by 12 other things I didn’t know needed my immediate attention, when I hear this episode/repeat and got sucked into the Narcissistic, mega ad revenue show!
What is the draw? Are you a watcher? I admit a few years ago I caught a few episodes with a few of my siblings (who asked to rename nameless) and there were scenes that were funny. And, coming from a large family I could relate to the dynamics between siblings (maybe not when Khloe wears an Native American head dress), but the bickering, gossip etc. Who is watching this show and what is the appeal?

PS: My daughter and one of my sons were talking about a recent episode (the one where Scott apparently blames fame for his party habits)? And, to hear my kids talk about Kourtney and Scott’s marital issues was like they were talking about family friends. And, my daughter adds that Kris Jenner really got on Kim for her travel away from the kids? So I guess if the Kardashians entertain my teen age children and lead to after dinner discussions.. well… maybe I need to Keep up with the Kardashians!
