CHUBBIES | WEEKEND FINDS
Have you heard of the latest fashion for high school and college age boys? Chubbies! Neither had I until this past Christmas when my high school age son asked his grandparents for a pair of Chubbies for Christmas. This request immediately prompted a call, text and email from my mother. She summed it up best with, “These short-shorts remind me of the OP shorts you kids wore.” My mom emailed the site about a sizing question and she was concerned about the {auto} response. Specifically, the casualness of the reply. Like, “we will catch up with you later.. we are in the middle of a Christmas chub-athon” kind of response. Once she read the packaging inserts that arrived with the shorts she understood the tone was a part of the Chubbies shtick!
Chubbies are not exactly the most attractive pair of shorts, but this is what makes them endearing. Chubbies is a revolution, it’s a mindset. Weekly Friday emails hit the inbox with celebratory chubnation announcements! Check out their social media and website http://chubbies.com. These shorts were the brainchild of four Stanford grads! Their mothers must be so proud! Seriously!
